RIX Industries Nominated for Employer Support Freedom Award by Secretary of Defense

RIX Industries has been nominated for the 2015 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award (Freedom Award). The Freedom Award Nomination indicates the high level of support RIX Industries has shown for employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve as well as RIX’s continued recognition of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). With this esteemed recognition, RIX appreciates the values, leadership and unique skills Service members bring to the workforce and continues to encourage opportunities to employ Guardsmen, Reservists, transitioning Service members, and Veterans.


Instituted in 1996 by the Secretary of Defense, the Freedom Award was instituted to recognize the many exemplarity ways employers support their National Guard and Reserve employees. To this day the Freedom Award is the highest recognition given by the US Government to employers who support employees within the Guard and Reserve. The award is presented annually to 15 employer finalist by the Secretary of Defense.

The Guard and Reserve are essential to the strength and well-being of our communities” states Bert Otterson, President and Owner of RIX Industries. A certificate displaying the Statement of Support, indicating RIX Industries as a company that goes “above and beyond” for its Guard and Reserve employees, will be posted in the lobby at the Company’s Benicia, CA headquarters.
