09-10 - ENVIRONMENTAL VIBRATIONEnvironmental vibration qualification is required for this item, unless the item has already been qualified for OHIO Replacement class submarines via standard clause 09-V within the part description for this item.If an untested item is identical to an item which has been in service on a previous class submarine, additional vibration qualification is not required. Suppliers should identify and confirm any potential applicability of this condition to the Buyer during the bid/quotation process or as soon as possible if subsequent to placement of purchase order.When the Buyer is responsible for vibration testing, Supplier involvement shall typically be limited to shipping, post-test inspection, and functional testing, as applicable. In the event that the Supplier will perform vibration testing, the following additional information is provided:Vibration test inspection and functional testing reports are required to be in accordance with military standard MIL-STD-167-1 (I/C#2 or I/C#4) or MIL-STD-167-1A, with the following modifications per EB-5333: Type I vibration from 4 Hz (or lowest attainable frequency) through 14 Hz at a double amplitude of 20 mils for exploratory vibration and a double amplitude of 30 mils for variable frequency and endurance test phases. The purchase order number, item number and applicable drawing number shall be indicated on the reports. Reports submitted for approval shall normally be received by the Buyer within 30 days after completion of the vibration test.For similar or identical equipment which has been previously tested in accordance with the above requirements (i.e., tested to equivalent or similar requirements), detailed proof of such test with approval letter shall normally be submitted to the Buyer for evaluation of vibration extension rationale within 30 days of receipt of this order.Qualification Test Procedures:Qualification test procedures shall be prepared by the Supplier and approved by the Buyer prior to the start of tests.The Supplier shall submit to Electric Boat Corporation for approval, via a Buyers vendor procedure approval request (VPAR),a qualification test procedure which shall include, as a minimum, the following:A. A cover page noting the qualification test procedure number and revision, Suppliers name, purchase order number, contract number, component or part number, etc.B. References (i.e., procurement specification numbers including change letter, military specifications, military standards, etc.).C. Test equipment calibration cycle time, range and accuracy, detailed schematic of test setup (including pipe sizes, dimensions, materials, dummy weights, means of attachment, etc., as applicable).D. A detailed test procedure based on the applicable procurement specifications or ordering data. The sequence of tests shall be performed as specified on the applicable procurement specification or ordering data. Requests for any changes in the sequence of tests shall be submitted to the Buyer for approval.E. A copy of Suppliers assembly drawing, provided that it has not previously been submitted, for this contract.F. A sample of the qualification test data sheet.
