RIX Industries’ Liquid Oxygen (LOX) Production System receives much praise in the latest edition of the Cryogenics Society of America’s online magazine, “Cold Facts.” Published in the 3rd quarter of 2016, the magazine’s section, Spotlight on Industry, has highlighted the RIX LOX system for cutting cost and increasing efficiency for the U.S. Navy.

Bath Iron WorksOnboard the USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), the RIX LOX Production System provides benefits in safety, performance, and reliability in the production of liquid oxygen for both medical and pilot uses aboard the carrier. Developed by RIX Industries in partnership with Chart Inc., the LOX  Production System features energy-efficient Thermoacoustic Stirling Technology (TST) by Chart Inc. and new militarized VSPA separators by RIX Industries. As a result, the system operates at 50 psig pressure and liquefy at approximately 105 K; thusly successfully causing a major reductions in the lifecycle cost to the U.S. Navy.

“The Cryogenics Society of America in tandem has been very supportive of our  innovative achievements with Chart to produce an advanced product for the U.S. Navy,” says Terry Allvord, USN Retired and Director of Business Development at RIX Industries. “We look forward to the opportunity to produce more innovative products in the future.”
