RIX continually pushes into new areas and develops new designs. Some of our new designs move beyond the traditional reciprocating compressor that we have used so successfully and draw on new concepts, and new designs. We have developed a cryogenic compressor to take hydrogen, helium, and argon at temperatures down to minus 450F. This is a big step forward for helium pumping, and is a very valuable means of capturing liquid tank boil-off that would otherwise be lost. RIX has also developed a line of membrane nitrogen generators to produce oil-free inert gases at pressures up to 6,000 psig (420 barg). These generators have seen extensive use in injection molding facilities for gas assist as well as on flight line for filling tires and struts. Our membrane dehydrators were an offshoot of our nitrogen generation designs and they produce very dry air at the interstage of the compressor, eliminating downstream desiccant driers.
