DESCRIPTION:
RIX Industries nitrogen generation systems are self-contained
nitrogen generation system that will produce 95% - 99.5% purity
dry inert gas. The nitrogen is available at high pressure
(up to 6,000 psig) for direct use in a gas assist system for
injection molding or can be put in storage cylinders.
The systems
consist of membrane module(s) to produce the nitrogen and
a RIX oil-free compressor to generate elevated pressure. Feed
air compressors are optional. All the components are mounted
on a small skid, and operation requires only an electrical
connection (shop air connection also required for systems
without a dedicated feed air compressor)
.
The RIX nitrogen generation systems will produce up to 60
scfm of very dry nitrogen (-65 deg F dew point; lower dewpoint
equipment is optional) which is enough to fill sixty standard
bottles per day to 6,000 psig.
The MiniGen
operates with regular shop air with supply pressure between
80 psig and 150 psig and flow rate between 17 - 30 scfm for
the membrane. A series of filters removes liquid oil or water
and particle to 0.2 micron. The air enters the membrane where
the oxygen, water vapor and some incidental nitrogen are permeated
through the membrane wall while the desired nitrogen is passed
on through the membrane. The nitrogen then goes into the RIX
oil-free high pressure compressor where the nitrogen pressure
is boosted up to 6,000 psig.
