September 2006: RIX has shipped eight large high-pressure nitrogen generation systems to the Naval Air Forces (Navair). These systems have two oil-free compressors--one for feed air and one to boost to 5,000 psig--and membranes to produce 99.5% pure nitrogen. These first eight are part of a larger contract.

April 2004: RIX is taking an active role in the developing hydrogen industry by supplying both high-pressure and low-pressure oil-free hydrogen and syn-gas compressors. RIX shipped compressors last year from 3 HP up to 125 HP, at pressures up to 7,000 psig, for hydrogen service, and a number of recent orders are currently being built. Other compressors shipped earlier this year are being used to feed reformers producing hydrogen. Many of these compressors had sealed crankcases. RIX has a number of new designs that offer competitive options for oil-free and high-pressure hydrogen and natural gas service.

January 2003: RIX introduced its helium version of the popular MicroBoost compressor at the Divers Equipment Manufacturers Association (DEMA) show in Las Vegas in October. Divers were impressed with the small size and attractive price of this versatile compressor. Being able to compress helium as well as oxygen means that divers can make their own heliox mixtures. Also, since the compressor will take suction pressures down to atmospheric the divers can scavenge all the gas out of the supply cylinders and avoid sending them back with residual helium and oxygen.

May 2002: RIX Adds Chinese Representative.Working closely together, RIX and Greatall Dynamic Equipment Company have teamed up to provide oil-free compressors to China. Greatall, with offices in Beijing, Shanghai, and Wuhan, will offer the full range of RIX compressors for petrochemical applications, filling oxygen cylinders, and many other requirements.Greatall will also provide spare parts and equipment servicing for RIX installations.RIX is pleased to welcome Greatall to the RIX team.

February 2002: RIX Featured in CompressorTech Magazine. In an article titled "A Multitude of Niches" RIX's unique position in the gas compressor marketplace is explained and examined. Click here to see a copy: CompressorTech Article.

November 2001: RIX Secures Shipboard Air Compressor Contract from US Navy. RIX Industries was awarded a contract to supply shipboard service air compressors to go aboard aircraft carriers. The RIX compressor is the MARC-350, which is an oil-free screw compressor producing 135 psig clean, dry air. A RIX membrane air drier was included in each of the packages.

September 2001: RIX Ships Microboost Compressors for Oxygen Cylinder Filling. Finishing its development program, RIX has launched the industry's first electric-motor-driven compressor for very small cylinder fill requirements. The MicroBoost uses three stages of oil-free compression to go to 2,200 psig (150 barg) and is used to fill oxygen or nitrogen cylinders. With a with a ß HP motor, the MicroBoost is the smallest cylinder filling compressor in RIX's extensive high-pressure compressor line.
